I have to fess up, too.

Back in the early 1990s, I withdrew $10 from an ATM.

But the machine gave me two $10s (they were stuck to each other).

I then went back for a second transaction (secretly hoping there were multiple "stuck $10s" waiting to be released).

The machine only dispensed a single $10 the second time, so I stopped.

Let it be known that I owe Chemical Bank (or whoever bought them) $10 + interest.

Opposite experience here! Requested $100, got back $60 with two of them folded over on the corners. $100 debited from bank account, filed a complaint with the bank. The temporary refunded the money, did an investigation, then said that the ATM actually settled at the correct number, and took the money back from me. Not cool

Do you know of any good backend web frameworks for Kotlin? I would wish for something like FastAPI for python. Kotlin may actually be a great fit for a service I want to build and I hadn't really thought of it as an option until now.

But people with credit card are probably living available limit to available limit. Their credit limit is their cash.

is this sarcasm? That’s a wild generalization of people who use credit cards

Someone from zero cannot do a handstand in 30 days. Period. I think it's a cool goal, but you ain't doing in 30 days.
malsanton · 4 years ago
This is an unreasonable assessment. I did it in a couple weeks. Maybe not guaranteed, or for everyone. But if you’re fairly athletic is it a fair goal.

The Razer design is nice, but as someone with a blade who's battery bulged within only a year of moderate use because cooling was clearly an after-thought to looking good, I wouldnt be quick to trust it.

Then again, maybe they've improved since then. Mine was a 2019 model after all.

so it’s not just me! twice replaced a bulging battery so bad it caused the trackpad button to stop working.

I'm surprised smart cars haven't built in a feature yet to help prevent this.

I drove a rental recently that had a “check back seat” message and a chime when you turned off the car and it detected something in the back seat. I seemed to quickly learn to ignore the chime as it becomes the noise the car makes every time you turn it off. I would be surprised if they had any effect.

I love this project, but something has always bothered me about it. For something as critical as your entire set of passwords, aren’t you essentially trusting this person you’ve never met to not just take all of them when you use the server?

For example, one day a malicious maintainer could flip a switch that simply updates the docker image to send thousands of peoples’ entire vault somewhere and then disappear, no?
