Can universities just force in person tests without access to an LLM?

Someone on reddit [0] mentioned that they updated their device via USB and hadn't encountered any issues. If that's true, then it might actually have been the previous firmware update that silently bricked the device. Or maybe Samsung only test in a controlled lab environment without real world signal interference.

In any case, it's mind boggling how a multi billion dollar company lacks proper rollout strategies.

I have a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones, and their app constantly tells me to install the latest firmware update. After the 20th time I finally agreed - only to be met with the update instructions: I must perform the update in a place with no other bluetooth or wifi devices.

Where on earth would I even have to go to find a place without there being any 2.4Ghz signal interference?

I've never been more careful when pressing “Cancel,” making sure I don't accidentally tap “Agree and Continue”.

Bandwidth it’s at 273 GB/s for the m4 pro. I hope the m4 max is two times that. It will allow using llama 70b a little bit faster

I feel your pain, recently had something similar happen that forced a website I run behind cloudflare, there isn't much you can do when you get millions of requests in a day from tens of thousands of US IPv4 addresses that are on the residential networks you see non-malicious traffic from.

One thing that got me was seeing some of the malicious traffic originate from the same /24 as I use at home. Whatever botnet was being used certainly has good penetration of residential ISPs in the US!

My girlfriend bought some Chinese WiFi plugs from Amazon to use with Alexa. I wonder how many of these devices are doing this from time to time. Amazon has tons of generic devices that connect to your WiFi network

In practice they're comparing America to an idealized, fantasy version of other developed countries from 2007. They largely aren't aware of how much the US has pulled ahead since then. The UK now has a lower GDP per capital than Mississippi for example.

You should use PPP instead of GDP because GDP does not represent local purchase power

Agreed. Even solar + wind - when the buzz started it was all rainbows and butterflies because we found a silver bullet to energy!

There is no such thing as free lunch. If you start absorbing massive amounts of solar, you will have some effect on the environment that we have absolutely no clue about. Same with interfering with wind patterns and ocean currents, which would happen with energy generation at true humanity-scale.

Critical thinking left the room a long time ago.

I did. I waited 3 months to get it and really needed a new one. But like I said it's not something to see in a new product
