yes, but recent alerts don't seem to be reporting properly, which now makes sense given the news.

Despite the flashy title that's the first "sober" analysis from a CEO I read about the technology. While not even really news, it's also worth mentioning that the energy requirements are impossible to fulfill

Also now using ChatGPT intensely since months for all kinds of tasks and having tried Claude etc. None of this is on par with a human. The code snippets are straight out of Stackoverflow...

Didn't IBM just sign quite a big deal with Groq?

The attempts at controlling the narrative feel a lot more unsubtle since Musk took over.

I bet dollars to donuts that they are tipping the scale on stoking up tensions on UK users with things like migration and class division.

I only follow tech people on twitter, but if you looked at my FYP you'd think I was deeply interested in UK politics - which I am not!

Enough is enough, when is the regulation going to shut these legal insider trading markets down?

If Anthropic should have prevented this, then logically they should’ve had guardrails. Right now you can write whatever code you want. But to those who advocate guardrails, keep in mind that you’re advocating a company to decide what code you are and aren’t allowed to write.

Hopefully they’ll be able to add guardrails without e.g. preventing people from using these capabilities for fuzzing their own networks. The best way to stay ahead of these kinds of attacks is to attack yourself first, aka pentesting. But if the large code models are the only ones that can do this effectively, then it gets weird fast. Imagine applying to Anthropic for approval to run certain prompts.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

They do. Read the RSP or one of the model cards.

Not sure why you would write all of this without researching yourself what they already declare publicly that they do.

Ticket prices going up is actually good for mass adoption. If they are too low, you will see people riding the train who are only using the train because they are too poor to afford a car. That makes middle class people want to avoid the train.

Also higher revenue often means better service, which for most people is more important than the price.

lavezzi · a month ago
I don’t think these points are accurate at all for people in the UK. There isn’t really a class divide, you ride trains in particular because it’s theoretically the most time efficient way to travel within metro areas and potentially across the country. Increased prices have not resulted in better service, and it’s purely a method to price gouge those who have no feasible travel alternatives.

In an attempt to keep this conversation about technology, all I'll say is that Elon is a self described free speech absolutist, which is what he's enacted on X - and hence the unbanning of "known nazis". I have to agree with this (a position I've not always held). It's better to bring out and allow speech to be held and more importantly: challenged. This at least is something to treasure in the US, as we are losing here in the UK.

lmao no he hasn’t. Unbanning racists and being a free speech “absolutist” are mutually exclusive concepts here.

Someone keeps trying to hack into my main Google account (I keep getting 2FA requests), which unfortunately was part of some early crypto activity and was traced back to me, and I don’t know what to do.

I myself can keep denying them but I have a toddler and if he accidentally accepts one of them, I’m screwed.

And since it’s impossible to reach anyone at Google, WTF do I do?

lavezzi · 3 months ago
2FA or account recovery? I keep getting account recovery requests and it's pissing me off.
