Edit: I’m typing this on my phone, so brevity won over explicitness. The latter probably wouldn’t expand ~. Imagine a file named “/home/me/ some file” for a better example.
Would be cool if python had a pipe operator though.
The back ticks in ruby is pretty ergonomic too. Wish python had a simpler way to run commands. Kind of tedious to look up subprocess run arguments and also break things up into arrays.
For example,
subprocess.run(“rm -rf ~/ some file”, shell=True)
and subprocess.run([“rm”, “-rf”, “~/ some file”])
have significant different behavior.Redit from a text based place, became a place driven by pictures (Can we call that "instagrami-zation"?).
The thing, is that discussion is what made reddit good. Now it's mostly low quality pictures, bots and comments written by marketers.
Then AI models and google search are trained on this garbage.
I wonder if someone will finally disrupt reddit
They killed third-party apps, which were way better than their garbage app and they don't seem to realize how much it annoys their users.
I’ve got six digits of karma, and I’d rather walk away than suffer through its awful UI.
And he’s great with a lasso!
I love his albums with Edie Brickell, he’s good with Steep Canyon Rangers, and more recently have heard him shine with Alison Brown (banjo), Sierra Hull (mandolin), and others in his latest tour.
If you’re looking for the top banjo players technically, you might check out Béla Fleck, Jens Kruger, Noam Pikelny, Tony Trischka, Bill Keith, Don Reno, and Earl Scruggs. I’ve personally heard superhuman performances by Jens Kruger in-person and I grew up on Scruggs.
Gift cards are used by phishers. In our institution, we routinely get personalized spam mails (in the name of the corresponding group lead of the recipient, sent via GMail -- this is not low-effort) that ask whether they are available and, when (accidentally) responding, ask for Apple gift cards.
