Yes, although never say never...

Well nothing is risk-free. But in my opinion in any case the risk of allowing climate change to rampantly continue vastly outweighs the infinitesimal risks of nuclear.

It is amazing. But two major incidents within 30 years time range are not so amazing. When we continue in that rate we will have a serious problem. And with aging reactors and instability everywhere it does not look good.

One incident caused by a natural disaster that would never happen in a European country like Germany, the other caused by mismanagement and frankly jaw droppingly pigheaded incompetence which would also never happen in a country like Germany.

Edit: in response to the large number of people bringing up BER and other infrastructure failures in Germany: yes, BER and others may have been bad, but a completely different kind (and magnitude) of incompetence than that which led to the Chernobyl meltdown. They really aren’t comparable.

Out of the hundreds of thousands of people who saw the original accusation, only a few will see the follow-up. It will forever be known that iPhones replace people's heads with leaves. This is how urban legends are born.

This is one of the few times I'll ever feel sorry for Apple! I can only imagine the calls they're going to get from Karen's who didn't take good pictures to begin with and blame Apple for it because they saw an internet that one time that somebody's iPhone replaced a head with some leaves.

I find that people on here are _extremely_ uncharitable when it comes to anything Apple

Funny you should say that, as Christopher Hitchens in his deathbed, converted to Catholicism himself.

Can someone who's more knowledgeable on the topic comment on the following: if natural immunity is more robust (as one would expect - the immune system is exposed to many spikes that way, as opposed to just the one), why don't we first immunize with the vaccine, and then expose people to the alpha variant, so as to develop a more robust (i.e. natural) response without the risk.

One reason amongst many others is the risk of a vaccine-resistant strain emerging. There’d be a pretty enormous evolutionary pressure for that outcome under those circumstances.

But Google did pull out of China, did that improve the situation in China? Meanwhile Apple makes billions in China and barely anyone says anything. If you're Google you're looking at that like a raw deal.

It’s not about whether it improves the situation in China or not. It’s about having consistent principles as a company.
