isubkhankulov commented on Ensuring a National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence   whitehouse.gov/presidenti... · Posted by u/andsoitis

Question number one. Is dominance really a necessary part of a country's existence? Can't you just have peaceful relations and supportive relationships with other countries to live in harmony, when artificial intelligence brings benefits to all countries, not just the USA? Can't you build on the technological foundations that have been laid to create sustainable development for your society?

The desire for more. To have more than others, is a key problem that generates unhealthy politics. Unhealthy foreign policy towards other countries. In your pursuit of being first in everything. Being first in everything, preventing the development of other countries, holding onto technologies for yourself. You create an imbalance. You create an imbalance in the global economy, in politics, in the social sphere, and in the social environment.

Isn't there an alternative to having sustainable development? Built on the principles of mutual support and focused not on dominance, but on collaboration between peaceful states. Between peaceful states.

Yes, dominance is preferred. Countries’ resources aren’t evenly distributed, and this fact determines foreign policy more than anything else.

There’s no world govt or global authority. Every country must look after its own interests.

Having every country cooperate requires trusting some entity as a global enforcer, one that wont abuse their unchecked power. Obviously, america has played this role since ww2 but not without plenty of mistakes and oversights.

We as humans haven’t found an alternative to this yet.

The fiat financial system (aka wall st and main st banking) is heavily regulated on a state and federal level.

Yet after over a decade, the government explicitly did not regulate crypto despite significant overtures from the industry. Nothing other than enforcement actions, until very recently.

This, to me, implies that the government does not want to regulate it proactively because they don’t want to legitimize it.

At this point these tools are all pretty good. I also feel like folks often also over index on the output style or UI. Like to me the “you’re absolutely right!” sycophancy isn’t a notable bug; it’s a signal that you’re too in-the-loop. Generally my goal is to “shoot and forget”—to delegate, set the context, and let it work. Judging the tool by the final PR and not how it gets there.
I use LLM tools daily and my experience is that this just does not work on an application of any meaningful size or complexity.

You're going to immediately be overwhelmed with code, comments, markdown files, and all manner of extra text that may or may not solve your problem. The chore then becomes PR reviews of tons of iffy code, and if you merge too much of it, after too long your codebase will be a bloated mess that even the craftiest prompts won't untangle.

It's best to use to brainstorm and implement very targeted prompts, set and forget is crazy.

Completely agree. The quoted strategy only works for small hobbyist codebases.

Haha, I have used AI in some parts of it - mainly the JSON part because I could not wrap my head around it for the life of me. But I am proud that 90% is self written!

I can see this becoming a trend. People putting badges on their repo as to how artisanal, organic and “authentic” their code is.

What do you think voters should do? How do we increase the number of doctors?
isubkhankulov · 2 months ago
The current doctor workforce is limited by a congressional cap on Medicare-funded educational slots. Apparently it was established in 1997 to prevent a surplus.

Of course, the opposite happened because of demographics and increased lifespans.

Completely agree. Generally speaking, America’s homicide closure rate isn’t great compared to other western countries and is unfortunately trending downward in recent years.

I can certainly understand concerns about privacy but the other sides of this discussion should not be ignored.

> Think about this for a second. The physical keypad -- exposed to British weather, coated in a mysterious film of protein shake and regret, probably being livestreamed to TikTok by someone's ring doorbell -- accepts my ancient PIN without question. But the digital QR code needs cryptographic rotation that would make the NSA jealous.

Great writing!

Does this post read like an LLM wrote it to anyone else? Not a big deal if it does but it feels like it’s trying too hard.

Great concept and I see why this would be a great community. However, the pricing tier for professionals and founders feels steep at $50/month, even for those with steady income.

I'd love to try it first to evaluate the value. Will you offer a trial period or money back guarantee? It's hard to commit and invest time without that.

Did you build this? I'm looking for an API that does this.
