So... de-facto mass deanonymisation of all Spanish social media users? I see a lot of supporters of these policies either not acknowledge that you can't identify under-16yo without identifying over-16yos.

While I'm in favour of limiting social media for kids, there doesn't seem to be a right way to do it unless this system doesn't store identification data, just confirms their age and deletes everything.

I can recommend everyone to read Felix Hill's suicide note on the topic. He was a scientist in DeepMind: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-jBoSEVlryiX1IaSzV4vKuih...

This is one of those moments where, thanks to the internet, you catch a glimpse of another persons world. It gives some perspective.

Not me, I fully support billionaires in yachts. I think they should all have yachts and spend lots of time with the exuberant aquatic wildlife off the Iberian coast.

I think they should even venture a bit more into the ocean, maybe observe some historical submerged ships from up close.

I'd like to imagine a future where I can stream fractions of a cent per minute/hour to the video provider or creator in exchange for consumption of that content. That way I only pay for however much I actually consume and the platform doesn't have to serve me ads to be profitable or sustainable. This could even work without needing to register for an account, using the HTTP 402 Payment Required response status code that already exists [0][1], something your browser could handle in the background.

Just my 2c as a layman:

This makes sense in my head, if there's an incredibly small cost to watching someone (which would add up if that someone thousands of views) and the experience doesn't revolve constantly around trying making me constantly want to consume something else.

The only solution is to have less people use drugs so that there is less money to be made selling drugs.

The best way to have less people use drugs is probably to make it illegal to use and buy drugs.

> it’s clear that straight-out blocking HTML attachments with JavaScript is not an option for most organizations, as it would impact important business communication.

I suppose it depends on what your job is. My habit of decades for personal email is to not allow HTML at all. I do the same in the office. Sometimes, this means I'm reading the HTML source directly to get the information, which is inconvenient, but it's worth it to me.

Fortunately, most important emails I get contain no HTML at all, or use only trivial HTML that doesn't hinder reading the source.

I do wish people wouldn't use HTML in emails at all (it rarely adds anything useful to the email), but that's not the world I live in.

Honestly, while it is kinda sad it's the reality: it has great marketing potential (although it's a concept I inherently despise, it's giving me a job atm).
