I’m sure it’s pure coincidence that the Trump family made millions from Binance, CZ, and donations from Trevor Milton and Paul Walczak right before those pardons.

I'm testing this and it's really weird not being taken straight to a Google results page when I type something. Honestly, I'm quite comfortable just switching to the ChatGPT app and typing my query there if I want to use it, and then relying on the browser if I just want to hit Command+Tab and search it on Google. But I'll test it out and see what happens.

When the iPhone came out, there were like 6 apps, and no app store.

In 2024, iOS App Store generated $1.3T in revenue, 85% of which went to developers.

That figure sounds way too high

Edit: yes I understand it is correct, but still it sounds like an insane amount

$2.5B in stock comp for about 3,000 employees. that’s roughly $830k per person in just six months. Almost 60% of their revenue went straight back to staff.

In a way this was kind of inevitable, but I had hope that it was still 1-2 years away. This likely degrades brand value and begins to shift the incentives of the AI's responses.

From the little I’ve played with it so far, its spec-driven format seems to give better results when making large changes to code.

Isn’t this only useful for blogs, news sites, or forums? Why would I want an AI to know less about my product? I want it to understand it, talk about it, and ideally recommend it. Should be default off.

I’ve found the experience pretty underwhelming so far. Maybe they’re under heavy load right now, but nearly every time I try to use it, it takes about 20 seconds before it automatically switches from 2.5 Pro to 2.5 Flash due to delays. Unfortunately, the Flash output just isn’t good enough.

The entire UI redesign of "liquid glass" looks horrible in its current state. Right now the readability factor on iOS is at an all time low. It feels like a change just for the sake of change. How is it better?

I keep hearing good things about Gemini online and offline. I wrote them off as terrible when they first launched and have not looked back since.

How are they now? Sufficiently good? Competent? Competitive? Or limited? My needs are very consumer oriented, not programming/api stuff.

Probably the best one right now, their deep research is also very good.
