So I feel like article doesn't address the "why" of it all. Why auto AI upscale?
hleszek · 2 days ago
Maybe it's to make it more difficult to train AI video models from YouTube. Think about it, they have the raw footage so could use it if they want, but competitors using scrapers will have slightly distorted video sources.

Looks like the entire GitHub organization is archived. Anyone know what happened? The most I see is:

https://github.com/litl/backoff/issues/211

That's why I started this discussion, hoping that someone would know what happened and also to discuss how to organize an alternative when the repository is archived and discussion is not possible anymore on GitHub.

I would guess like him that no human engineer ever read his application. The less they would have done in that case would be to at least thank him for his work, even if they don't plan to hire him for some reason.

Automated systems, AI screening, and incompetent HR people are the bane of modern recruiting practices.

Not sure why this isn’t a bigger deal —- it seems like this is the first open-source model to beat gpt-image-1 in all respects while also beating Flux Kontext in terms of editing ability. This seems huge.

It's not clear from their page but the editing model is not released yet: https://github.com/QwenLM/Qwen-Image/issues/3#issuecomment-3...

Can humans do randomness? Obviously not and I expect if you ask people for a random number, then odd numbers will predominate.

Realistic voice acting for audio books, realistic images for each page, realistic videos for each page, oh wait I just created a movie, maybe I can change the plot? Oh wait I just created a video game

Now do it in VR and make it fully interactive.

It's not continuously evolving outside the developer's control, right? Companies need to checkpoint dependencies for resilience. Can you define tests to ensure compliance of new versions?

As long as we don't ask it to make paperclips it should be fine.
