Hi! I have been working 12+ years in software engineering and 5+ years in Elixir; Focus on backend and systems development. I've been remote for 7+ years.

I would describe myself as an engineer with a product and business sense.

My experience spans multiple sectors, including enterprise software, staffing solutions, and most recently, financial technology in the realm of payments.

One of my roles was as a team lead in a (later) YC backed startup.

My preference is to continue to work primarily with Elixir, though I'm open to explore other opportunities.

I would love to explore how I can add value to your project, let's talk!

No---an effective anti-tank weapon is a ditch: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-tank_trench

You might need to make a bigger one for a modern tank than a WWII tank, but the tools to make big holes have been around for a while.

I guess you'd have to dig quite a deep trench for modern tanks.

They should just ban all interesting content already so creators finally move to better platforms some of which are probably yet to be created. Watching YouTube these days without adblocker is just painful, not to mention the broken copyright claim system which has to be the way it is partly because YouTube is just too big.

I would love to continue working with Elixir and bring with me a bit less than 2 years of production experience on a good sized Elixir project.

Yep, that's the problem with these ideas about terraforming. If you have the technology and energy to change the environment on a planet that much, it's really easier to just build O'Neill cylinders or some other large stations and rotate them so that you get perfect 1g gravity, and you can stick them in whatever orbit you want (i.e., close to Earth) so that they aren't far away and they're at just the right distance from the Sun so that they aren't too hot or cold.
hereonbusiness · 7 years ago
I wonder if maybe future space dwelling people will look at living on planets like we do at living in caves.

What I feel would be missing for me is the scale and freedom of living on an earth like planet. It might be different if one is born and raised on a space station.

Having both near me, the 2018 feels much thinner/lighter than the 2014.

But guess what? It doesn't really matter. I'd still pick the 2014 chassis if it was specced the same as the 2018.

hereonbusiness · 7 years ago
I much prefer the new chassis simply because it's noticeably less of a pain to carry around while retaining the same performance.

I do hope the next chassis will fix the keyboard and maybe even add back the sd-card reader, not to mention introduce top spec non-touchbar models.
