I've certainly noticed a speed difference recently. DDG feels pretty snappy to me now, whereas before it was annoyingly slow, easily taking a second or so to load. I'm located in Luxembourg.
Same here (Switzerland/Germany). GGD is still not as fast as Google (noticeable delay between the zero-click info and the search results) but definitely a big improvement.

1. Open your Chrome preferences
2. Select Under the hood on the left
3. Hit the Content Settings button at the top under Privacy
4. Check the box labeled Block third-party cookies and site data.

Maybe you can help me: I have the same preferences but there are some strange cookies I can't delete.

When I now restart Chrome (without visiting any sites and about:blank as start page) all cookies are back: http://cl.ly/EWBr
Any idea what could be causing this?

I don't know if it passes the Zelda test but "Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy" (GameCube, PS2, Xbox) is - as far as I remember - a good clone.
