Respect: that's a beautiful pack.

I'm a total sucker for ebikes and built my first ebike around 2006, powered by 40lbs of lead acid motorcycle batteries.

I recently outfitted a trailer with a large battery made for an efoil (my other obsession) where the non-battery components went bad, the company went out of business, and "Hey, this would make a bitchin' ebike battery.

Here's me cruising around the Oregon back country with said setup last summer: https://imgur.com/a/lmvJSBW

I run a dead-simple, one-time, online fax service called JustFax Online[0]. While I don't have a recurring revenue as I operate one one-time payment, for the past months I have been consistently grossing over €500/mo.

This also brings tears to my eyes, as I remember[1] browsing these threads and being amazed (still am) by all the people who make side projects and make money from them, and at the same time thinking that I will never reach this milestone, and yet, here I am.

“I'm talking only about the minor everyday problems in life. Leo Tolstoy dealt with the major problems of the world. I'm only dealing with why we all have the feeling that people don't like us."

I felt that in my bones.

If you get a watch that measures heart rate variability (HRV), you will notice that alcohol is significantly reducing it, which is associated with a lot of things you don’t wish to yourself. And it doesn’t have to be a lot of alcohol.

So how sober has a simple answer if you care about your health : fully sober.

A perfectly valid comment, no critique.

The way I see it / choose to live my life, not that it’s the “right” way: I enjoy certain things, like wine, in moderation that may have some detrimental health effects. However, a glass of wine and a nice sunset is something that brings me a lot of joy. I’d argue that a certain degree of “ah, fuck it” is psychologically healthy which can improve overall health.

I also have a bourbon and cigar on Sunday nights, usually paired some Jazz or an old movie. Sometimes I put butter on my bread even though it’s “bad” for my arteries. Let the chips fall where they may.

Bottle digging, i.e. looking for and collecting old bottles, typically buried or submerged.

Wife and I live on a floating house in Oregon outside of Portland. Taking my paddle board to various beaches on the river to pick up trash has become a beloved hobby of mine. Fantastic way to get exercise, get out in nature, and clean up my community.

I kept finding old, antique bottles during outings: Coke bottles from the 40s and 50s, little medicine bottles from who knows when, old beer bottles from brands no longer in business. I eventually learned that there's a whole hobby around this called "bottle digging", even an active subreddit (r/bottledigging).

I've since bought a nice snorkel and mask and have been diving for old bottles on clear days, when river visibility allows it. Thinking about taking it to the next level and getting scuba certified.

If you like finding things, you might like bottle digging.

I'm sure there's a lot of good in this. I went to get more info. Reddit says Unreviewed Content.

Neither is acceptable to me.

I just got past the Facebook login nag. I have fat fingers and those "x" things get smaller all the time.

I have a few concerns.

First, anything online can go offline, permanently, and many do.

Second, I really don't want to talk to AI. I want to talk to people who share my concerns and experiences. I don't know who or what AI has been trained on.

I have been journaling on paper for ages. Every new year, I ask if I want to go electronic. I just find that anything electronic has competition for my attention from everything else on the device, and I stick with paper. I have decided the same way since CP/M.

I have various data bits since the 3 inch floppy days, but all the "ideas" and reflections are in paper notebooks.

These have no bearing on the quality of your app, so good luck.

My previous online attempt was with Evernote, which I dropped when it was bought and all the US staff were laid off. Fortunately, the data is portable and I made a last data dump.

Thanks for the heads up—first time I'm hearing about this, will investigate.

Glad to hear paper journaling is working out for you, fair assessment of concerns around online journaling.

> I really don't want to talk to AI.

I've received similar feedback from a few users, the "Kind AI" feature has had low engagement, and I'm not using it much myself—I think I will probably remove it this weekend.

"displaced person": I wasn't familiar with that term until I just Googled it, I'm sorry to hear that.

The concept of a supportive life coach / informal therapist is what I'm most excited about when it comes to the potential of AI. I recently added a feature along the same lines in my project (https://kindmind.com/) that I called "Kind AI".

I envision a future similar to what's portrayed in the movie, "Her", but it's a supportive coach speaking to you at any given time, encouraging you, telling you are good enough, and helping you identify and correct negative thinking patterns.

Did the glassmorphic vibes. What tools/libraries did you on the CSS side or is that custom styling?
