Advanced topic: If a company is progressive in their HR policies and is very strict about discrimination and harassment, do you need BRGs?

What is a BRG?

Years ago Google used to have a feature of blacklisting sites from your results. Go figure, they removed it.

I made the switch to kagi because there was so much ai slop and stack overflow copy sites in my Google results. Sometimes I would hit three or four cheap clone sites of the same stack overflow answer trying to get my answer. Now I'm super happy with Kagi.

There are browser extensions, like uBlacklist, that can permanently remove sites from results.

I think you can import filter lists similar to how it works with uBlock Origin and import some AI websites list.

The website is great!

> I built a basic CNN trained against penises

After seeing it in action, my second thought (first was just watching my fish) was that I was amazed at the good behavior of the users because I would have expected a lot of penises floating around. Now I understand. Nicely done!

There are some fish decorated with swastikas floating around

IMO it would be much better to redact names instead of deleting the entire stories. Newspapers in other countries like Germany never write the full names, anyway.

Which is funny because if Wikipedia dies, who will continue providing updated training data to these models? It's a weird self-fulfilling prophecy that consolidates without financial replacement.
fossislife · 8 months ago
The same sources Wikipedia gets its information from. You can not even contribute to Wikipedia without providing outside sources, I think, which are usually websites or books

I don't know how reliable a source daily dot is, but [their report](https://www.dailydot.com/debug/bluesky-ban-laura-loomer-catt...) says that is untrue.
fossislife · 8 months ago
That Dailydot article is from November 14 2024 and says those were fake accounts.

But apparently she really did create an account, yesterday, and says to have been immediately banned, without posting anything: https://x.com/LauraLoomer/status/1873542021715243076

Not a lawyer, but let’s say the cops were searching my house. If I threw the keys to my unbreakable safe out the window, such that they could never be found, I doubt a judge would care for the distinction. That the evidence exists but cannot be accessed is still going to find you in contempt.

As long as no police has confiscated (in most countries this involves the police man touching it, I bet) the equipment you can break it or make it inaccessibility however you like. It's your stuff, after all.
