There are all kinds of retro stuff that I still love. What is it about Palm OS that you love?

Zen of Palm

Mobile app developers, if you haven't read Zen of Palm, I highly recommend this piece of art. You can download the PDF for free. Nothing beats Palm for its simplicity, responsiveness, and (perhaps subjectively) ease of use, even to this day.

I wrote a series of blog posts about it nearly two decades ago, and later translated some parts into English: https://dingyu.me/blog/zen-of-palm-1-preface

I don't need a thinner phone. I need a phone that can use a physical SIM card, has a physical keyboard (something like the N900), and a 3.5mm headphone jack... I'll just skip on that overpriced piece of junk.

The first thing I do after opening this page (or any other phone announcement) on Hacker News is press cmd+f and search for "headphone". Turns out not many people care about this anymore.

I can, and will, totally use this as my daily driver on my MBP 2013, if there is Tailscale and a up-to-date iTerm2.

The UI is soooo much better than the current Mac OS.

It's weird how people always complain about lack of easy profile switching in Firefox. If one tells them that what they are really looking for is containers, they dismiss containers, but then proceed to complain that profiles don't have the same features. If you want sync across browser instances, manage them with one Firefox account... You really want containers not profiles.

Meanwhile, it’s not weird that people think what other people actually want are weird.

Does any Linux terminal have a comparable integration? I'm still using GNU Screen but willing to give tmux another shot.

WezTerm

The author of this feature also ported it to the Windows Terminal.

Besides, Chrome OS’s built in terminal also has tmux integration.
