Monitoring of BGP Changes for ASNs.

The other stuff isn't something I really need a new tool for.

There are other tools by Ripe, HE and the like that already allow me to see historical data.

The only point at which I need actual up-to-date to the minute data is during incidents. Hence the monitoring.

Any links to PRs or discussions?
erinnh · a month ago
Theres many.

Here is one Discussion/issue that is currently annoying me again.

https://github.com/netbox-community/netbox/discussions/9515https://github.com/netbox-community/netbox/issues/20005

Netbox is full of these kinds of things. Where people ask for stuff or even create PRs for it and the Maintainer of Netbox shoots it down because reason.

The thought that disposable vapes are still not forbidden in my country (EU) is making me sick.
erinnh · 3 months ago
From what I know the law is passed already. And they will become illegal end of 2026.

But the cleaners do more than the floors. Vacuuming takes me about 20 minutes once a week. I don't really see the point when I live in a 2 bed apartment.
erinnh · 3 months ago
If 20 minutes is all you need once a week, yeah it maybe doesnt make sense for you.

I have a dog and need to vacuum at least once a day, currently.

Without a robot vacuum, Id go crazy.

For those outside the IT/networking realms, SFP use uniform connectors for both the networking device and the fiber cable, but the major vendors (Cisco and friends) have used firmware flags and settings to provide vendor lock-in for at least the last 15 years.

It used to be that in the event of a major outage or hardware failure you would need to issue additional debug commands to the effect of "I know this isn't your approved SFP but please just try it," if you were trying to replace a first party SFP with a third party one. TAC would more or less laugh at you and hang up if you sought support.

I'm not sure if this product will _actually_ change any of that, but here's hoping.

I like the pricing of this and especially the health check part. But the programming an SFP module part has been a thing forever. In Europe at least. Flexoptics for example have their own boxes to program optics.

Yeah, that’s exactly what happens if I don’t add an exception for it to my iot vlan - it keeps reconnecting to WiFi. Scheduled cleaning doesn’t work without internet either..

I guess I’m not buying the next vacuum until I’m 100% sure it works offline and supports Matter or something..

erinnh · 3 months ago
Personally, Im currently looking at the switchbot vacuums.

They recently started working with Home Assistant with their "Works with" program.

Not 100% sure what the status of each robot is though.

It's integrated into HA now as a core component, and it's not cloud it's a local (polling) integration. https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/roborock/
erinnh · 4 months ago
But according to the FAQ, the vacuums still dont work when they are offline, as they will turn reset their wifi until they are online again.

> When the vacuum is disconnected from the internet, it will attempt to disconnect itself from Wi-Fi and reconnect itself until it can reach the Roborock servers.

I ordered the framework desktop 395 - 128Gb edition for just under 1900 eur. With some extras I paid just over 2000 incl shipping to EU. Didn’t feel overpriced to me.
erinnh · 4 months ago
I looked just now and it cost 2500 euro without any storage.

Was it on sale or something?

You can use GrapheneOS or LineageOS without the Google rootkit and continue installing any apps you want
erinnh · 4 months ago
Considering both Graphene and Lineage have been complaining about google making development harder and harder for how long will that be a possibility?
