Don't ask about asking, just ask. This website is the right place to show some FOSS. For example, you could name this topik "Show HN: my amazing work". From my experience, if the work is important despite being little-knowed, admins tend to place the topic into the main page or at least in "show", especially if the work is anything written in Lisp. This question will never be escaleted because there is nothing interesting here.

realistically, the end point for moderately tech savvy folks is going to a be two-device setup. one cheap phone for basic communication , all the corpo stuff like banking and shirt-and-tie social media + a wifi hotspot. then a second "practical use" device that uses the hotspot, that you fully control and do your tinkering with.
edit: coming to think of it, teaching people to have a device for the "clean stuff" and separate one for the "stupid stuff" could even turn out to be a benefit.
Your heart is where your money. The device with the money would be the practical device for anybody except few RMS' followers.
It would be great if HN's rules is not (partly) dictated by law. Some posts ought to be silenced preferably immediately.

I used it only for getting sound louder than 100%. BTW new youtube's fullscreen mode is annoying because the only thing that really changed is ability to see some other videos while being in pause mode. Now I download more because this is too much of enshittification for me.

I have issues with the presence of the ME and I think we agree on a lot of things, but this statement is lunacy lol
So, there is no any fresh x86 processor without that shite. I have no devices with ARM so I have nothing to say about the latter.

there are a handful of vendors that will sell you an intel chip with the me disabled, as well as arm vendors that ship boards without an me-equivalent at all

Intel ME is not a feature for user, it is intended to control any modern CPU except the ones coming to US Army/Navy. It is needed to make Stuxnet-class attacks. The latest chip with possibiliy to have the ME provenly disabled is the 3rd gen.
