The corporate machine consists of people.
dygd · 3 days ago
From my experience it consists of Excel spreadsheets. What I mean is that when a wave of layoffs hits, there's no humanity to it, you're just above or below a line.

I'm depressed by their determination.

Indeed. Imagine organizing your life around a $20/month subscription.

Junie is a much better agent than the AI Assistant and uses the same AI subscription plan, but Augment blows the doors off both of them.
dygd · 4 months ago
I didn't know what Augment is, so I checked it out. There's absolute no way I'm going to agree to this [0]:

> When you open a workspace with Augment enabled, your codebase will be automatically uploaded to Augment’s secure cloud.

What kind of database is this using and how is the search so performant?
dygd · 4 months ago
Was curious too and checked the API docs - it's Elasticsearch. The docs even show the index mapping. https://documenter.getpostman.com/view/26019452/2s93Y5PKmb#d...

I thought vibe coding was just a meme. There are people who put vibe coding on _their resumes_??

dygd · 5 months ago
Also thought it's a meme until I saw a YC job ad for a vibe coder: https://www.ycombinator.com/companies/domu-technology-inc/jo...

The public bullying is intentional.
dygd · 6 months ago
Very much so. Trump even said it, "This is good TV". What an embarrassment.

Was what happened today in the White House the best outcome for Ukraine? It is hard to see how that is the case.
dygd · 6 months ago
Clearly not the best possible outcome. But what happened today cleared up any notion of the current US administration being an "ally". Seems like a defining moment and Europe will have to do a whole lot of think on how to move forward.

Is there any way to zoom out of the graphs once you've zoomed in by clicking and dragging?

Double-click will reset the zoom

Compared to plugin like Sourcegraph Cody with Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Jetbrain's is still atrocious.

> The thing that would put me off using DynamoDB is the same reason I wouldn't use any other tech - can I download it?

Amazon provides a downloadable version for development. I don't know how close it is to the real thing, but it makes it easier to do local dev.

Localstack also supports it in their paid version

dygd · 8 months ago
The downloadable version is nowhere near ready for production. It's performance is also excruciatingly slow.
