Musk will see this as working as intended.

There’s a segment in one of his many Starship interviews with Tim Dodd the Everyday Astronaut, where he talks about simplifying the machine. He says you’ve got to cut and cut and cut some more until it’s radically simple. His rule of thumb is that if you’re not adding back 10% of the stuff you got rid of, you didn’t get rid of enough in the first place.

This might be fine for greenfield engineering projects, where there are no “Chesterton’s fences”, where there are not yet any other people or things depending on success, but it’s wholly inadequate for people problems or brownfield systems and processes. The fact Musk doesn’t understand this just suggests ignorance, and suggests that it’s not an idea he really understands at its core. To understand an idea truly, means to understand when it applies and when it doesn’t, and why.

I don't think you can claim Elon's ignorance or stupidity is the source of his actions.

He knows what he's doing and has a plan. He's a very smart person.

Obviously this is no replacement for a high quality therapist. Good luck finding one.

There are a lot of low quality therapists that cause harm to patients through incompetence. AI has a fit in the market somewhere.

This project is incredible and the author is an exceptional talent. So much complexity spanning multiple disciplines.

The radar PCB is incredibly complex and dense, and worked on the first revision with only one minor issue. That's remarkable. Imagine writing an entire software application and the first time you build it runs as intended with only a couple compiler warnings.

This is Apple appeasing Trump. They'll change it back if another branch of government successfully challenges the change.

Apple has made the business decision that this petty thing will appease Trump, and that appeasing him will help their bottom line. Gross.

Kagi maps still says gulf of Mexico.

I wish they had a native android app - Any way to easily set up that page as a PWA?

Can anyone recommend a journalist who is reporting the facts of what’s happening on this subject?

From what I can tell, it’s widely been reported that

- Elon Musk was allowed into the Department of Education

- “Big Balls” accessed Treasury computers

- etc…

But I have not been able to find any first person testimony that confirms those statements.

From what I can tell Tom Krause is actually the one who was given access by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. And Tom Krause is an employee of the Treasury and has security clearance.

I see a lot of people claiming there was some sort of illegal access, but I would love to read a source that explains exactly who accessed exactly what system improperly.

Can anyone point me at that source?

Is this open source?

Does it support plugins?

The physical copy is out of stock new and very expensive used. Weird that the proponents of this aren't making it more easily accessible.

As a concerned citizen, this recently rose to the top of my reading list.
