I'm sorry what? This is by far the least useful feature of Seqoia, it requires you to authenticate on the phone and Mac each and every time you try and use it. If my phone is in my bedroom and I want to check on my Anker battery charging status, I have to get up, put my pin in my iPhpone (16 Plus) and then fingerprint auth on my Mac (mini4 Max). Even if you select auto-auth, you stil have to authenticate each and every time you use the feature. If I have to auth on my phone, why not just save time and use that device for the info I need?

That is absolutely not the case. On phone restart I need to reauth, but that’s about it.

Mandatory cert rotation forced by a dependency that had a leak, and they all didn’t handle it properly. (Just a guess)

It's always sad to see products that were truly innovative when they came out end up getting neglected and sunset due to large co M&A-based strategic decision-making.

Disclaimer: I'm one of the co-founders of Monarch Money, a (paid) competitor to Mint founded by the original PM on Mint.com. I had written a HackerNews front-pager a couple years ago about why Revenue Model is More Important Than Culture [0], and my co-founder wrote some thoughts about why Mint ended up going this route.

Since this announcement, we've seen an unprecedented influx of "Mint refugees" moving over. I think a lot of Mint folks have felt like the product has been neglected for years, but it was free and they often had years of history in the product. This was kind of a forcing function for them.

Are you planning to add support for Canadian banks anytime soon? I checked out Monarch and ended up going with Mint just because they were one of the only ones supporting Canadian banks

Literally just made his point. Every single person keeps repeating it’s like email, as if email is a fantastic place to go get your news and interact with others.

Used one to pay for parking the other day. Was nice not to need to download an app.

Yes, but they didn't release the model after training and you can't take your weights with you if you finetune their model.

GPT Neo was trained at similar expense, and they released the weights. Use that.

damvigilante · 4 years ago
First part is correct, the second part is not. GPT Neo is a 2.7B param model, the largest GPT is 175B (they have various flavours, up to 175B). I appreciate the sentiment and what ElutherAI is doing with GPT Neo, but there is no open source equivlenet of the full GPT-3 available for the public to use. Hopefuly it's just a matter of time.

Router Nodes is what I would really like to have, I want a node that doesn't have internet connection, but in the local network with another node to get access to the internet through that node. Wasn't able to achieve it with plain Wireguard, my linux networking kungfu is weak.

EDIT: thanks, I'll try mentioned projects, Yggdrasil seems most interesting.

How does this compare to ONNX https://github.com/onnx/onnx in terms of feature completeness/performance and what made you develop your own runtime ?
