Alternative: run your own self-hosted messaging server for you, your family and friends. No company should ever get such sensitive data as private conversations.

Use Discord with a throw-away account. Create a character in GTA 5 on your laptop and show its face (in "selfie" mode) to the web-camera on another computer with Discord open. All face scan checks so far gladly accept it. Instagram has been requiring occasional face checks for ages already.

Finally. The previous hate GOG showed towards Linux was absolutely ridiculous.

Interesting. I'd have thought these giants would have better pricing because of the scale...

They don't. AWS is the most expensive hosting provider in the world.

The walled garden seems to be falling apart, with users trapped inside. Maybe the idea of a walled garden isn't so great after all.

I personally came to that conclusion thanks to the GrapheneOS situation regarding device attestation. Insecure devices get full features from some apps because they are certified, although they cite security, while GrapheneOS get half featured apps because it's "insecure" (read, doesn't have the Google certification, but are actually the most secure devices you can get, worldwide)

It's not about securing your device from external threats or bad actors; it's about securing the device from you.

I used to really like and admire Musk. You could say I was a fanboy. I am still asking myself what the fuck happened? Was he faking his true character all this time and managed to dupe me? Did he suffer some brain damage which changed him this drastically? Was it too much social media, was it covid-related, was he poisoned? Did too much money and power get to him? I would seriously like to know. By know, knowing about his chronic tendency to lie about the most basic stuff (such as being really good in a fucking computer game), I assume he duped me, and this makes me really, really dislike him a lot. And I can't be the only one. I hope he fails in all his endeavors.

Yes.

People's true nature reveals once they stop caring about money.

To be fair, he was really good at faking.

Maybe it's time to stop going hysterical over other people's sex life? Then it won't be a "hot" topic to exploit any more.

Don't schedule too many meetings to begin with. It's absolutely ridiculous to have your day fully packed with online meetings.
