If I understand the Manifesto correctly, the metadata db can be any SQL database but the client needs to be DuckDB + DuckLake extension no ?
crudbug · 10 months ago
Good point. I think - any ducklake implementation for any SQL compliant database will work.

Of course, the performance will depend on the database.

You can change from J-1 to H1B work permit, then apply for green card.

Path:

1. J-1 to H1B

2. H1B to EB-1 or EB-2 based upon your carrier path.

Still yearning for an Ocaml-like language that uses the Go runtime.
crudbug · 3 years ago
Go disliking is due to its syntax not semantics. Go as a dynamic language runtime platform will be interesting; the platform defines the semantics and languages define syntax.

On similar lines, Fable [0] project recently announced rust & dart runtime support making F# a very attractive choice.

Yes, it is a zerotier alternative but there are key differences in how we do somethings... in fact, its on my list of things to do for creating some of these comparisons.... in the mean time, here is some comments on Ziti vs others - https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/v1ymn5/when_pub....

We did do performance testing too ... OpenZiti is built for high performance - https://netfoundry.io/benchmark/benchmarking%20open%20source...

Thanks! From the benchmark report [1], it is not clear how much of the baseline wire performance is observed, the numbers in the table are anywhere from 30% to 90% of plain wire bandwidth.

As there are multiple overlay projects popping up - Tailscale, NetMaker, OpenZiti, NetBird, Nebula, ZeroTier, EVPN, etc, we should consider a baseline benchmark index, like [2].

P.S. We have been testing ZeroTier for VPN access and observe ~70% baseline wire bandwidth.

Is Pluton IP open? All hardware vendors embracing this is not the right path for security / computing.

Why can't hardware vendors embrace standards-based open platforms like Global Platform [1].

[Edit] Google is also pushing Android Ready SE Alliance [2].

Although a decade late, Oracle should open source the whole Solaris stack with governance model similar to Java Community Process (JCP).

They still can make $$$ from support licenses.
