If you find that you like something that most people don't it's generally best to just leave it alone and be happy you enjoyed it. If you try to delve into why so many people don't like the thing you like then either they will manage to convince you the thing you like is actually bad, which doesn't benefit you, or you'll start to question whether or not your taste in media is bad, which doesn't benefit you.

I guess I disagree with the premise that most people dislike those two things, which seem quite popular and were well-received

It's a breath of fresh air watching anime adaptations that actually love and respect the original author's work like dungeon meshi.

Meanwhile western fantasy adaptations seem to be full of arrogant showrunners that think their vision is better: wheel of time, the Witcher, House of the dragon (to an extent). George RR Martin even publicly criticised HBO for this recently.

I loved the first two seasons of Wheel of Time (and also loved the books growing up) - what is wrong with it?

Never read The Witcher or played the games but also really enjoyed the netflix series

I wonder if it's crossed his mind yet to take a break from the internet or if any people close to him have tried to tell him he needs to stop

INTC is criminally oversold right now. I'm buying as much of it as I can at these prices.
coolbreezetft24 · 2 years ago
I was contemplating the same thing. I get Intel isn't doing so well but I really can't imagine it just collapsing and dying. That said another possibility is just years of stagnation and low returns on your investment

How come Musk has never raised awareness on censorship issue in China - which is orders of magnitudes worse than the US? He very clearly has no problem speaking out against other countries governments

This is where I really feel my age. Every message board and chatroom (bbs, forums, irc, icq, aol, et all) on the young internet was virtually uncensored and a 100% free for all, yet we all mostly got by. You went to the places you knew to go to. The communities mostly self moderated by kicks/bans. It worked really well.

So whats changed?

Well, I have my thoughts, but one thing is for sure, as soon as the platform itself tried to start moderating, that's when things really started changing.

Also smaller communities tend to be easier to keep from becoming a cesspool

Do you think the video is a deep fake because you don’t like Republicans?
coolbreezetft24 · 2 years ago
No, I don't think the video is a deep fake. What I think is this guy is clearly a troll whose concerns about job number revisions are clearly disingenuous. I think when you include hyper-partisan framing around your message, it undermines the message then if you had just presented it directly.

It's also not Republicans that I don't like, it's the professional concern trolls that I don't care for.

You could ask the secretary of commerce, but I suspect she doesn't know.

get the government out of the way and people will build to surplus

streamline permitting

knock down ridiculous fees and paperwork

don't try to tax the builder out of business

don't put stupid mandates about forcing builders to sell to demographics the current administration prefers

basically, get out of the way and homes will be built

coolbreezetft24 · 2 years ago
This is easier said than done. NIMBYs and other interest groups will intentionally get in the way to ensure homes are not built.

I wonder if there is a chance employees would actually be in favor of that.

Considering that the high taxes also affects them and there is also the increasing criminality problem

coolbreezetft24 · 2 years ago
Seems like this would be disruptive to lot of people who would have to uproot their families and move to a new state to keep their job? Kids would have to change schools, spouses get new jobs. Leave neighbors/friends/families. All because of one persons culture war grievances
