Ironically the latest Nest thermostats offer fully local control with Home Assistant via Matter.

Last I checked you have sign-in to Google before it lets you config via Matter

> But, you're throwing away data

Often it’s intentional for privacy. Record no more data than what’s needed.

I wonder if smart meters are included. There’s a conspiracy theory around the RF emitted by smart meters.

My thoughts too. Using SI prefix for a thousand years is uncommon.

Previously, monster cable vs. using a coat hanger for a speaker wire.

The reviews on the cables in question (Blue Jeans Cable) are wild. https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RYLMXICLLSJWC?ASI...

"Music was much more open with plenty of air around the instruments. Imaging was superb - greatly improved over previous cables that I used. The depth was substantially improved with great instrumental recognition from front to rear. In other words, the speakers managed to disappear and only the performances were remaining."

"I had for the first time, heard tones and instruments that were previously hidden with other cables. Music sounded more alive - had more presence. Brass instruments now had a bite (yet with a rich, non-strident tone) that sounded as if you were there."

"The bass tones improved dramatically, taking on a fuller (tighter with less bloat) than I had remembered with previous cables"

I'd love to see how these people do with a double blind setup.

Just call it "unknown" or "unspecified" or better yet use an optional to hold the enum.

It is hard to think about Sri Lanka without recalling [0] that this is the country which recently attempted to institute a fertiliser ban. My default assumptions about their general infrastructure management are unflattering.

More specifically the activist Vandana Shiva talked Sri Lanka into outlawing conventional agriculture and only use organic methods.

> The method names are more intuitive: e.g., then instead of map

But map makes total sense, considering that maybe is a monad.

“then” is definitely less intuitive
