Interesting, but after my initial impressions I predict the results of the experiment will be "this is why we can't have nice things"

What about the people who did not opt to share or index their chats, and the companies that claim to not train on user chats?

https://privacy.anthropic.com/en/articles/10023555-how-do-yo...

> We do not actively set out to collect personal data to train our models

The 'snarky tech guy' tone of the article is a bit like nails on a chalkboard.

Hi all, I built these models with a great team. They're available for download across the open model ecosystem so give them a try! I built these models with a great team and am thrilled to get them out to you.

From our side we designed these models to be strong for their size out of the box, and with the goal you'll all finetune it for your use case. With the small size it'll fit on a wide range of hardware and cost much less to finetune. You can try finetuning them yourself in a free colab in under 5 minutes

For picking a Gemma size this is a video I recorded for the 1b to 27b sizes earlier this year, 270m being the newest addition

Hacker News Disclaimer I really like working at Google so with that; All my opinions here are my own, I'm a researcher so I'll largely focus on technical questions, and I'll share what I can.

You reminded me of an awesome Google engineer I met at BSidesSF last year who tirelessly answered my questions, and when I clicked on the video, it was you! That was a really inspiring moment for me, thank you.

The generated graphic in the linked demo for "Training materials that captivate" is a sketch of someone looking forlorn while holding a piece of paper. Is there a way to do in-line edits to the generated result to polish out things like this?

Why not Linux? The UI looks to be some kind chrome based thingy - probably electron - should be easy to port to Linux.

Also is there a link to the source?

ceroxylon · 24 days ago
I am guessing that the Linux version was first (or the announcement was worded strangely), as it is available on their download page:

I love that caps actually seem to matter to the LLM.
ceroxylon · 24 days ago
"hello world" is tokenized differently than "HELLO WORLD", so caps definitely matter.

> I liked the take of the path to AGI being framed as a three horse race between OpenAI (consumer product DNA), Anthropic (business/enterprise DNA), and Google (infrastructure/data DNA)

Wouldn't want to forget Meta which also has consumer product DNA. They literally championed the act of making the consumer the product.

Jokes aside, it was interesting to me that the 'three horse race' excluded a company who is announcing 5GW data centers the size of Manhattan[0].

The output is very fast but many steps backwards in all of my personal benchmarks. Great tech but not usable in production when it is over 60% hallucinations.
