"I refuse a mailing list" <- closer approximation, in my opinion. Which matters: results, or the method? Proponents have a consistent story, yet I'm getting confused.

Like GP, I read the article too! Different conclusion(s). The CEO wanted a 'good reason'? Control group in this performance experiment. Or, 'fuck off'; how's that? Founder Mode? Cult mode.

The main character of the story is 40.

I cannot imagine living in those circumstances until 40. Or trying to raise a child in that environment.

The historical idea of "communal living" meant living with your parents and grandparents as a large family unit, not moving into the city to live with 9 strangers in a rented flat.

This picture looks like the destruction of personal and family wealth to me.

Truly upsetting that what was a joke is now my best plan: van, river.

Absolutely zero interest in sharing walls with people again... or participating in building the next Company City. Bidding against colleagues is enough to make the bosses laugh.

So, behave like a dragon. Hoard coins and, eventually/occasionally, fly. Maybe burn some stuff.

You're misreading it. Reading the speaker's PRs is presented as an alternative to talking to them, in the same way that if Alice and Bob were arguing whether song lyric sites should exist and Alice asked "can't they listen to the song?", it would be a rhetorical question and would not indicate that Bob did not listen to the song he wanted to read the lyrics of.
