In the US there are often noise ordinances and laws that largely go unenforced. Step 1 is enforcing existing laws.

In some towns, there's an issue with ordinances and laws not being specific enough and a lack of training for measuring accurately. Someone could measure dBA and someone else could measure dBC, and the ordinance doesn't specify which measurement applies.

That seems a little goofy. Why don't they just rendezvous in the cloud such that the authentication on the iPhone is imputed upon the Apple TV, without the Apple TV ever possessing the password? This is how all other streaming things I own work.
bob-09 · 2 years ago
To rendezvous with the cloud, it needs a network connection first. This pop-up is meant to transmit the network password your iPhone uses so the factory reset Apple TV can establish its own network connection.

There are public users and owner users. Specifically, you don't trust input from public users. You absolutely should trust input from owner users, or if you won't by default for some reason, you absolutely should give them the option to do so. Primarily, you should be giving them the choice as to what their system will do when it cannot reliably determine the actual time.

The alternative is to pretend that you can somehow divine a 'projected secure time.' Just, the gall to even write a sentence like that.

If your goal is to phase out local accounts and force microsoft.com logins as part of the computer setup, being able to trust your certificates seems like a prerequisite to being able to trust your users. And the correct time is a prerequisite to trusting your certificates.

Then they can redirect via their own domain... Why I troduce a third party?

Does Squarespace or Wix provide you your own link shortener and analytics for scanned codes?

Your average restaurant owner is not likely going to pay an IT consultant extra money to operate a link shortener for them on the GoDaddy domain they bought in 2006.

Don't even have to set your sail; this landlubber likes likes to shoot videos with a smartphone, and these days, recording a few minutes of a family event, or even your plane taking off, in decent quality, will easily give you a multi-gigabyte video file. And that's for normal videos; $deity help you if you enable HDR.

And yes, this is the universal answer to "how much storage is enough" - use cases will grow to consume generally-available computing resources. Today it's 4k UHD + HDR; tomorrow it'll be 8k UHD + HDR, few years later it will be 120 FPS lightfield recording with separate high-resolution radar depth map channel. And as long as progress in display tech keeps pace, the benefits will be apparent, and adoption will be swift.

I'll be curious to see the file sizes for Apple's version of 3D video capture in their Vision goggles. After one, two or three generations, I'm sure the first gen files will look small and lacking.

In what way is the article absurd?

Nobody is suggesting shutting down Cloudflare or its services. It's just pointing out an attack technique that is being used.

This thread is absurd!
