Alright. So offshore development it is!

Putting snark aside, I'd rather work with the H-1B visa holders who are here locally. Not only does it make it easier for me to coordinate and deliver my projects, but there's a lot of local tax revenue being generated by these folks that we lose when they're working overseas.

I've been wondering since the 90s why I don't work with more Americans, but that ship has done sailed: a lot of Americans don't want to do this work. Even though it brings good pay with it. I don't know why that is, but that's the way it is.

But forcing us to use more and more offshore labor? That's just stupid.

Can they tariff offshore development?

Not really that useful if I can't sort based on last publication, nor see how many episodes a given podcast has published when searching.
benf76 · a year ago
The idea of the index is it acts as an API for apps to build search and other things on. It can do some searches but ya know what I mean.

What kinds of, well, censorship, is applied to the platform for a lack of a better word?

Maybe I wasn't able to scan the Terms of Service well enough, since I didn't see it defined there? They mention they can remove content there, but not why they would.

The idea of the index is to prevent censorship

It only affect the poor. The competitive parents regardless left or right will do whatever they can to get their children ahead. When it comes down to children, all bets are off.

After so many years, I can't say that these kinds of policies aren't malicious.

How can you say that eliminating algebra for all students ‘only’ affects the poor it literally is the opposite it is all Students no subset.

Replit’s 100 Days of Code for Python, with the built in AI tutor was a game changer. Before when I tried to learn I would constantly get stuck with a bug, now you can go full speed as the AI is excellent of nudging you back on course.
