I'm at Amazon and the promo feedback I see time and time again is that they want to see consistency of next level behavior. I guarantee if you filed for your second promo in 6-12 months, that's exactly what would come back. Unless Meta has much lower standards for promotions I feel like even saying "hit the jackpot" must be a severe understatement

2 friends working in amazon in different projects, they new grads joined < 5 years. One of them just recently got L5 and second one recently got L6. They're both < 5 years of averall experience. I don't buy that sh*t that Meta is different. You just have to land in right projects with manager who likes you. That's it.

Same stuff in amazon, if you're lucky to get into new project, even if it's designed like shit (in my case), people got nice promos. As soon as it was delivered team left with new titles and now new team which alomst doesn't grow. 1 promo in 4 years.

The US put 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs and the rest of the Western/developed world are probably going to follow suit so… they can probably respond by doing nothing in particular.

I’m conflicted about these tariffs since on one hand I understand the security threats and I’d like the rest of the world to catch up so it’s not just China dominating the market, but on the other it seems sad that affordable and effective EVs are here and probably can make a significant dent in emissions but the politics keep them from being utilized.

Why they're affordable? I mean why other automakers can't have cheap cars but China can? There can't be any magic.

The "propagandists, partisans and manipulators" that label themselves "journalists" and "media companies" want to dictate what posts should be allowed on Twitter.

They are no better than the Russian and Chinese counterparts after all. You cannot deviate from the agenda without getting censored.

I think I am safer with Russian govt having access to my data vs my local govt having access to my data.

Oh these commies! Starved to death polaks so much they doubled in count. It is not what you allowed to buy at all, it is what you allowed to buy for low fixed price. Food stamps. Bread milk and pretty much everything else you can eat as much as you want. Meat can be bought on market, for much higher price.

Hm... leftists tales. 'As much as you want' - As much as you can afford. And this is completely different story.

Hahaha. Not a sushi fan? Asians seem to like seaweed plenty. One way to help on this point would be to popularize (in the west) a snack that's already very popular in Asia: https://s.wsj.net/public/resources/images/OJ-AD212_SEAWEE_FR...

This is one of the best sellers in Thai convenience stores.

For some reason it's not cheap. One box costs about a dollar and doesn't provide enough nutrition to justify purchase. Otherwise it's quite tasty.
