Back in August I launched https://IndieHackers.com, a site where the founders of profitable online businesses share their stories and revenue transparently. I actually got the idea after reading lots of threads like this one on HN :D

Indie Hackers is my full-time job now. Is it "successful"? I think so! I've done over 90 interviews, and they've been read over one million times in the past 5 months, largely by you guys! I also made $2239 in December and hope to grow revenue another 50% in January. (As I do every month, I just blogged about that here: https://IndieHackers.com/blog)

I'm working on a podcast as well that I'm really excited about, as I've found it's a bit easier to get famous founders to agree to that format and to speak transparently about behind the scenes details.

Love Indie Hackers! I've learned a ton from the founders that you've interviewed.

Definitely encourage you to build out the podcast since it will provide even more value to your audience.

Best of luck!

Off the cuff, look through the criticisms and try to figure out how to make your marketplace 10x better. If you can, talk to the people who made those criticisms directly to get even more information. These can even become your first users.

Also, users should probably be matched based on language and other similarities. For example, an architecture student would match with architecture grads who did programs in english.

Good luck!

Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future.

Yes everyone is an Elon fan already, but the book offers a great inside look into how he thinks and how he faced down some incredible challenges. The book really inspired me to think bigger and to optimize for impact.

It's important to remember the trade-off between cost of living and network value. SF has a really high density of founders, talent, and investors but a proportionally higher cost of living.

Another important consideration is where your users/clients are. How would moving affect your execution? E.g. the Airbnb guys spent most of their time in NYC during the YC program because that's where their early users were.

If I were you, I'd focus more on ramping up growth.

Good point - I think there is a good blog post to be written on this topic.

That would be really valuable to a lot of founders (myself included).
