Been using it for more than 2 years since it's inception phase. It has been wonderful in pushing me out of distractions and tracking my time to take breaks. I would say I have delivered more than I could hope for. We can organise the activities to be track as our work ( actual productivity). Also, we can find where we have spend times in the given day. it was really nice to easily lookup on your day and find out if we have missed out on any thing.

it uses the accessibility settings and extension/add-ons in your browser to track. Based on my read on the privacy policy. they don't store or have access to data which is being collected in the app. just the summary is shared. But haven't dug deeper into it. they have the debug mode to enable and track what being tracked and what is being shared.

The mention of Apple Notes search makes me frustrated haha! I’ve been dreaming of Apple integrating something like this one day. Looking forward to trying out your tool in the meantime.

What are the long-term plans given the likelihood of Apple having on-device LLMs and integrating them throughout their tools in 202X?

Regarding long term plans: I think there are some interesting opportunities in adding integrations for other apps like Obsidian for example. But also open for suggestions / thoughts you might have.

Notechat is a desktop app that lets you chat with your Apple Notes running an LLM locally on your machine.

Notechat accesses Apple Notes through macOS's native AppleScript automation and uses AppleScript commands to safely read note contents and metadata directly from the Apple Notes app - this requires permission from the user through macOS security prompts.

All processing happens locally using Ollama and the notes never leave the users device.

Also working on a version that interacts with Gemini in cloud mode for better performance (but less privacy).
