I suspect this one is very similar hardware and a slightly better deal if you give up the cool factor of Framework. Although I don't really know.
Anyone compared them head-to-head?
This comparison uses hp G1a but I imagine it wouldnt be too far off from GMKtec: https://www.phoronix.com/review/framework-desktop-linux/9
Framework can be fed with more power to support better sustained performance is my understanding.
>DRIVERS LICENSES AND FACE PICS! GET THE FUCK IN HERE BEFORE THEY SHUT IT DOWN!
>Tea App uploads all user verification submissions to this public firebase storage bucket with the prefix "attachments/": [link, now offline]
>Yes, if you sent Tea App your face and drivers license, they doxxed you publicly! No authentication, no nothing. It's a public bucket. I have written a Python script which scrapes the bucket and downloads all the images, page by page, so you can see if you're in it: [pastebin link]
>The censoring in picrel was added by me. The images in the bucket are raw and uncensored. Nice "anonymous" app. This is what happens when you entrust your personal information to a bunch of vibe-coding DEI hires.
>I won't be replying to this or making any more threads about it. I did my part, God bless you all. Regards, anon
Being so careless with people's personal data should be a major crime, tbh. If I manipulated thousands of people to let me scan their passports and various other bits of personal info, then just left the copies around the city for people to find, I'd be prosecuted, and rightfully so.
Maybe there is noticeable difference?
I have seen more outage incident reports of cloudflare than of google, but this is just personal anecdote.
> "This new tool serves to streamline work processes, provide clearer insights into daily tutoring activities, and ensure resources align with Human Data priorities," the company's human resources team said in a mass email to employees.
> The software, which requires workers to clock in and out, would not track activity on the laptop outside of work hours, the document said.
very well intended (smh)

Anyway, I concur it's a hard choice as one other comment mentions.
But as someone who's tried many varieties of Japonica, there is a difference between the best Japan-grown rice and non-speciality rice grown elsewhere, as well as a difference between fresh (Japanese enjoy eating new rice, which is different from many rice-eating cultures) and old rice.
I pay somewhere around AUD$14/kg for Japanese rice in Australia, but I also don't eat it that often and I'm not that price sensitive.
But also, the average Japanese eats around 1kg of uncooked rice per week. That's ¥800 at the rates in the article (~USD$300/year). Japan's cost of living is generally pretty low, but I doubt +/- $100/year is effecting many people.
