At first glance this seems crazy. But what a battleship with a gun so powerful, that it can shoot down everything. Having a nuclear powered vessel that can shoot a railgun and laser might be battleship in size

Can you clarify what are you talking about? The US has been developing 6th-gen fighter since the mid mid-2010s - not that I'd consider it as an important new original invention.

What I would consider as the most impactful inventions of the last decade would be things like mRNA, Generative AI, and reusable rockets - all came from the US and the US is maintaining the lead in them.

All of the US military is a waste including 6th generation fighters. We hope china copies our disinformation campaign. In fact as the usa has been taken apart almost all of our big secrets are just disinformation

- stealth (not really) - aliens (sure....) - 6th gen jets (where are the jets?)

The reality is that everything that you do in peacetime is just to scare the enemy and will have very little effect in war. Since the US doesn't have as much industrial capacity the only winning war is nuke from space first or learn to get along

My wife did a lot of conversations with kids in Australia. They all said they hate social media and regularly get harassed by Asian criminal gangs trying to blackmail them. They support the law cause they were only there cause they felt they had to be. We freed these children . The Australian internet is far more dangerous than the USA

I've been developing open source code for over 25 years. i've deployed hugely complicated systems like hadoop. I've never seen anything as hard to run as this + the bridges.

Whether you think infinity exists or not is up to you, but transfinite mathematics is very useful, it's used to prove theorems like Goodstein's sequence in a surprisingly elegant way. This sequence doesn't really have anything to do with infinity as first glance.

What did we build with this useful math. Who was fed? What businesses did it create?
alexnewman commented on We're learning more about what Vitamin D does   technologyreview.com/2025... · Posted by u/Brajeshwar
mondainx · 25 days ago
Good article, but it does not cover toxicity; you can take too much vitamin D and this has very negative affects. Usually a multivitamin is enough for supplementing; taking extra is where you can run into issues; consult your Doctor.

Evidence that multivitamin d is useful?

I’ve never trusted signal. Signal desktop does not seem reproducible . It’s not clear to me how its infrastructure is deployed. The servers buffer messages to a large degree
