Interestingly enough, also some MS/Azure services are down. For example https://www.office.com/ just returns:

>We are sorry, something went wrong. >Please try refreshing the page in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please visit status.cloud.microsoft for updates regarding known issues.

The status page of course says nothing

Serious question: what other national or global-level weather services are freely available via API to end users? With AccuWeather going all-in on premium access and the NWS/NOAA being sabotaged, is there anywhere else with freely available high-quality data out there in readily-ingestible formats?
Ueland · 7 months ago
The Norwegian MET does, https://api.met.no/

They also provide yr.no which is widely used worldwide.

The last time I had checked (this was over a year ago) there was nothing that provided world-wide data in a consistent format except the paid APIs, of which only one had a good historical data service.

I could switch my site to just use NWS and be US only I suppose; better than just being completely off. Adding all the weather services of every country in the world is too much for me (and why I guess the paid services are value-add).

The Norwegian MET has had it for years, for free. https://api.met.no/

They also provide yr.no which is widely used worldwide.

I’m curious about this too, also having an adult tooth that never developed.

Strangely enough, still possible. My dad was in this sixties when he got his wisdom teeth.

Sure. Searching M1104273380R should return https://wms.lroc.asu.edu/lroc/view_lroc/LRO-L-LROC-2-EDR-V1.... and this paper: https://doi.org/10.1038/nature19829 .

Interestingly, when I tried this just now, I did get the paper as a result. I could swear I tried this same search yesterday and had zero results.

In a ironic twist, it now returns this HN page.

Troy, watch out you don't open yourself up for an attack from the bad guys: They'll start sending you solicitations with ReplyTo addresses of industry honeypots, and before you know it, you'll become a known spammer and your regular outgoing emails will be routed to recipient's spam folders or maybe even dropped entirely.

I'm not sure if you're joking or not so: He already gets attacked from the bad guys.

It'll be interesting when they add Southern Europe.

I've seen adverts for experienced developers that pay €35k. And life isn't that much cheaper in the cities here.

Ueland · 4 years ago
That sounds ...very low, right? Given that it will be very easy to get twice that(and more) in northern Europe.
