Mailbox doesn’t support it, but on mailbox you can use your IMAP app with Proton not.

And on mailbox you can easily send and receive PGP encrypted mail on mailbox.org. They provide a page for key import, allowing you to send encrypted emails like regular mail when needed.

It’s your choice, if you always want to use proton mail app everywhere you can use proton.

I've set the bridge as background Daemon so I barely know it's there.

Postgres didn't really become the darling of SQL databases until rather recently.. i'd say the last 5-10 years. It was a clunky DB back in the day compared to MySQL.
UK-AL · 5 days ago
It was clunky because it actually enforced rules.

Since it doesn't have as much interest from FAANG people treat it like its dead meat. Rails powers a ton of smaller apps (and some very large ones) but everyone thinks their idea is the going to be the second coming and therefore it needs all the insane optimizations that power Google etc.

The money is in working for a FAANG. So that's what Devs trains for.

There's not much money in working for a small saas unless you're the founder.

So if you're after the FAANG money, you have to play the FAANG interview game. If you're unwilling to play the FAANG interview game, then maybe you shouldn't be pursuing FAANG money.

It's not just FAANG that do these interviews anymore.

Tiny startups do them now as well.

Do you _want_ to work in these places? In my experience, if they expect you to run kube using kube in the interview, thats exactly what they do in their ststems as well.

These are the places that actually pay well.

It’s a start but not good enough. We also need a sense of accomplishment, like what do we live for. I know it’s mostly a luxury these days but in an AI powered world, it might be essential to keep people going.

Most work doesn't provide that anyway for the majority of people.

Absolute theater. They do nothing to validate that you are compliant with whatever ISO cert you're pursuing. They make you install a root cert on your macbook and they say that's good enough to ensure compliance. You just attest that you don't do stupid shit like committing directly to master or testing in production and they believe you

People test in production in all the time via Canary releases.

Because rewriting the kernel from scratch would literally cost billions. That's why. Literally criticising them for not achieving an impossible goal.

I know that "Rust GPU driver" on the titles gets you more clicks than "Arm Mali CSF Based GPU Driver". But isn't this a Arm Mali CSF-based GPU driver?

I hate focusing on the metatools (tools for building tools). It really sounds like the objective here was to build something in Rust. In the article it is even described as "a gpu driver kernel supporting arm mali.." instead of just an arm mali driver

It is a misunderstanding of what the job of writing a driver is, you are connecting some wires between the OS api and the manufacturer api, you are not to build a framework that adds an additional layer of abstraction, sorry to put it so bluntly, but you are not that guy.

Sorry for being rough.

Rust is important here because it's one of the first(if not the first) to use the rust infrastructure for a GPU.
