If you want to test the isUserAGoat and isUserAMonkey on you own device, I published this small app that does just that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.trianguloy...

Maybe I can add these other easter eggs...

I have a very different experience. For me the algorithm works pretty well. And I use youtube a lot since many years. Also have the paid subscription so no ads anymore (beside sponsor ads of course).

I get a lot of content I want and interested in, but I also have a long list of subscriptions. Sometimes I run into a rabbit hole, where I watch some completely different content and youtube then shows that for me for a while, even after I'm not interested anymore. But that is just for some days and then it stops showing it on my home feed.

So for me it does exactly what I want it to do.

Now I wonder, why is there such a massive difference in the experience?

I was going to comment this. My experience matches yours, the home page shows videos I may be interested on watch, and the subscriptions page shows videos from my subscriptions. Watch something new and you get related videos for a couple days, but ignore those and they disappear. I also like the occasional videos from old subscriptions or old watched videos, reminders from time to time.

I do not have the paid subscription though, but I do use only android (never web).

I work on the University, and there I recovered wired internet rather quickly probably due to backup generators. At home most routers stopped, some even took until the next day to be functional again.

As for mobile connectivity, the main issue was the congestion. The cell network didn't fail, usually, but in most places either your phone wasn't able to connect or had no internet. Too many people trying at the same time, I guess. On the University on the other hand it worked perfectly. Maybe because it's a usual crowded place and there are more resources, but I think it was also because a lot of students (even teachers) went home, so those who stayed were mostly alone with a good internet...but less people to talk to.

On my city there are a couple tram stops that were moved a decade or so ago. Google maps still show them at the old locations. All the comments say this, all the photos show this, even street view show it! But any time I send a change request it is rejected.

I've always wondered who reviews the requests, if you are a local, or even spend 2 minutes checking, you'll notice the mistake...

Kotlin sort of have it with let (and run)

    a().let{ b(it) }.let{ c(it) }

As someone with relatively bad memory, in general less variables = easier to understand. The more I need to remember, the more time I'll spent. IDEs help by providing inline hints and documentation, but the main issue is that a variable _can_ be used later, so you need to remember it. No variable (like on a chained/piped construct) means that the value is generated and immediately used.
