I like the "coauthored by Claude" notice just above the "read with Claude" button.

So I can have an article summarized by AI that was written by AI and is also about AI.

I check the url of those buttons and the prompt alone justifies a route to 127.0.0.1

The real issue was never AI in Windows It was AI with no clear user benefit. A Copilot button in Notepad doesn't solve a problem anyone has Good to see them pulling back, but the test will be whether the features they keep actually earn their place in the workflow instead of just being there because someone had a KPI to hit

Windows 10 searching the web started it all for me - not AI. Followed by constantly changing/moving the option on how to disable it. Use Edge, Onedrive, help finish setting up your PC (by logging in), constant disrespect of me the user.

W11 local accounts only with terminal hacks sealed the deal along with valves contributions to linux.

Background playback is a feature of the browser and operating system, not YouTube.

Consumer laws should prevent Google doing this. We need an anti-DMCA to make circumvention, bypassing, or disabling of user’s device or OS features illegal.

They removed the UI option to find newest videos first yesterday.

Faith and trust is something nobody uses to describe Musk. Maybe you should pop your own bubble you seem to live in? Using faith and trust while completely ignoring twitter?

Oh nice. I'd have loved to have had this a few months ago. It's not overly easy to find VST plugins for Linux, and I've missed that since moving from Windows last year.

Why the surprise, they do the same with search, they do the same with their Google workspace (the degree to which they are pushing AI is really hurting the product).

Google stopped being aware of their customer's needs a really long time ago, they are so arrogant they think the audience is now fully captive.

I can't remember a youtube change that did not degrade my experience on their platform.

Microsoft has seemingly been in a slow but steady decline for 10 years now.

Really needs to be studied.

It's like they started making structural decisions a decade ago that are now overwhelming their ability to deliver basic functionality.

I realize there were always problems like this, I live through Windows ME, but it does feel qualitatively different now with advertising being forced into the product, performance of no consideration at all, etc.

The Xbox name committee moved to Windows. Maybe they are shuffling the names their internal tools and documentation as well.

Telekom is well known for the crappy service - but they have a de facto monopoly. For example, when it rains, the line goes down where I live.

Solution: I got my Starlink. 3x speed. No crappy service. Weather independent. And surprinsingly cheaper ( 40 euros vs 45 ) .

[ as much as I do not like Musk & co, this is a real useful thing he build for the mankind - internet everywere from sattelite ]

ThatMedicIsASpy · 16 days ago
Depending on the age of Starlink you could add 10-30 to the bill for its power consumption.

My experience was slightly different. I mean, yes, there pretty much no 'non crappy' German internet providers, but nothing was as bad as Vodafone.

I'm glad Vodafone is available where I live. They're not better but at least they're an alternative. Also Telekom manages only to deliver 250mbit/s while Vodafone gets 1gbit/s.

Last apartment I rented Telekom was the only option and that was one of the reasons why I decided to move.

Starlink I would love to try but as there's building and trees blocking the horizon it's not an option here sadly.

Both throttle in my area unless we vpn so I just share a vpn with a friend to fix it.
