The lack of comments is a bummer; allowing /* */ style comments seems like it wouldn't complicate parsing significantly, and instead I've sometimes ended up having to do things like this:

    {
      "channel-comment": "This is the Slack channel that will receive notifications.",
      "channel": "#abc"
    }

Comments are not hard to parse. It was a strong opinion by Douglas Crockford, that they would be abused and therefore he omitted them.

People who are known at time of sending. A slack message can be searched by those joining the team much (much) later, those who move teams, in-house search bots, etc. Mailing lists bridge this gap to some extent, but then you're really not just using email, you're using some kind of external collaboration service. Which undermines the point of "just email".

you just use a shared inbox for the team
PretzelFisch commented on What happens when housing prices go down?   clmarohn.substack.com/p/w... · Posted by u/chmaynard

It’s not just regulation either. Housing companies are not building as much as they did prior to 2008, which had substantially the same regulatory environment in most places.

The idea that we’ve started building enough to bring prices down is a non-starter.

Why would the builder want to build enough to let prices drop? They seem to play a lot of games to give buyers incentives that do not lower the sales price.
