Great stuff! I wrote an interactive blogpost that walks through the code and visualizes it: https://growingswe.com/blog/microgpt

All 4 are in the dataset, btw

This is a fake detector that just has frontend logic for mocking realistic data, you can easily see it in the source code.

Really? Because I have an old iPad (4th gen?) that no longer works on many sites. If it was backwards compatible they'd still function.
O4epegb · 4 months ago
You are confusing backwards and forwards compatibility. Those sites may have added features that your iPad does not support, which is why it broke, if they have not added those, it might still work.

However JS is not 100% backwards compatible either, it is in many cases, largely backwards compatible, but there are rare cases of bug fixes, or deprecated APIs that might be removed and break old code, but this is not even JS itself, it's more like web/engine standards.

A lot of people using Vue just link Vue from a CDN and drop it in a webpage as a script, without using NPM. Does the stats account that fact? Sure you can do that with React as well, but you wont in production with JSX as one needs to compile it with node.js toolchain. Same for Angular. Vue usage is more like jQuery usage than React in practice.

O4epegb commented on Are unsound type systems wrong?   frenchy64.github.io/2018/... · Posted by u/mpweiher

TypeScript cannot be sound because its model of the runtime environment necessarily diverges from the runtime truth. A simple example: some properties were removed in ES6, so type checking against an ES5 runtime will result in type errors when run in an ES6 browser, and vice versa.

Soundness only provides a guarantee if you control when and how your code will be executed, and that's a tough constraint. To prove is not to forsee the future.

But you must specify for what target you compiling and typecheking for.

The former battle.net (now Blizzard App) does what many games do and has the form "Username #XXXX", where the xs are digits. So you can be Frank #0001 and I can be Frank #0002. Steam allows you to tag people on your list with user created descriptions. There are definitely applications out there that make this kind of user experience a priority, I feel like the gaming world is ahead of the curve on this point.
