This seems like a terrible comparison since Google Translate is completely beat by DeepL, let alone LLMs. (Google Translate almost surely doesn't use an LLM, or at least not a _large_ one given its speed)

For Google's Cloud Translation API you can choose between the standard Neural Machine Translation (NMT) model or the "Translation LLM (Google's newest highest quality LLM-style translation model)".

https://cloud.google.com/translate/docs/advanced/translating...

DeepL also has a translation LLM, which they claim is 1.4-1.7x better than their classic model: https://www.deepl.com/en/blog/next-gen-language-model

There doesn't appear to be a way to add files like .npmrc or .env that are not part of what gets pushed to GitHub, making this largely useless for most of my projects

It's incredible how terrible Material You on Android is.

For all the personalization hype, you can't pick your own colors (that aren't based on a wallpaper) without root.

You literally cannot make the Messages app have a white background with message bubbles in a color other than gray.

I've sent many an angry tweet about how ugly Material UI is, and this doesn't appear to be any better

There was a book I had as a kid called "The Encyclopedia of Immaturity" that explained how to do this.

I've been using it in Cursor for the past few hours and prefer it to Sonnet 3.7. It's much faster and doesn't seem to make the sort of stupid mistakes Sonnet has been making recently.

Scholarly consensus is that the "Gospel of Matthew" was not written by the apostle Matthew and the "Gospel of John" was not written by the apostle John:

For that assertion to hold water, "scholarly consensus" would have to define "scholarly" so narrowly as to exclude the vast majority of scholars (it seems like it should go without saying that most scholars in this area are Christian who maintain apostolic authorship).

Perhaps they are dismissing scholars who identify as Christian? That would be quite the catch-22.
