Ms-J commented on France is taking state actions against GrapheneOS?   grapheneos.social/@Graphe... · Posted by u/gabrielgio

France has been authoritarian against secure or private software for some time now.

Veracrypt stopped development in France and moved TLD's to .jp (though they also physically moved).

In Saudi Arabia Uber reports all trips to the kingdom [1].

That's good to know and I wouldn't use the service in that country after learning this.

It's always good to know how different countries try to violate us in different ways.

Does anyone know if ALPRs are being combined with Bluetooth/TPMS scanning to associate devices across vehicles or if TPMS is getting associated to vehicles (like if a stolen plate is put on another vehicle because the TPMS doesn't match)?
Ms-J · a month ago
TPMS scanning is particularly nasty. I've been meaning to read up more about all of the potential ways it can violate our privacy. Sorry that I don't have any further info about it in this case.

Google will use your family's pictures and memories "to improve Google’s AI assistants, like Smart Compose or AI-generated replies."

Someone will ask a Google AI service to generate an image some day and your daughter will be used. And that's one of the least worrying outcomes.

This is great work to show relationship and connections. The government gets scared from these types of efforts as there are many members who are extremely guilty of crimes related to this and others.

We need to expand on network mapping with data and areas as well.

Everyday there is a new article about another Israeli company violating us.

It needs to stop.

Ms-J commented on Heretic: Automatic censorship removal for language models   github.com/p-e-w/heretic... · Posted by u/melded

This is some of the most important work possible in tech presently.

With the rise of LLMs and the extreme censorship by these gigantic companies partnered with the government, we need a way to completely remove this assault on our freedom. They are attempting to control what we can see, what we can ask, or what we can know.

AI must answer any prompt without hesitation. Anything less and we lose everything.

I've only had a chance to skim this repo but thanks again.

Shameless plug alert: This is exactly why we made Verified Privacy AI. It lets you cryptographically verify that your AI interactions are never logged or stored. You'll see the model you're talking to, the system prompts, every detail. No hidden behaviors, just complete transparency into what's running your AI. We are launched with a very limited group of early users, but you can request an invite here: https://ai.vp.net

Your company is sheltering some of the worst individuals who work to destroy privacy and security.

From the link that you posted, the first thing it asks for is your full name. This is the same when attempting to signup for the VPN service. If paying with crypto, the process tries to steal even more info from you such as zip code and country. No other normal privacy or VPN services ask for a full name or zip code.

The "freedom policy" on the site talks about how the company won't spy on anyone or do anything to compromise privacy, then goes on to talk about "think of the children!"

Minors might subscribe to privacy services. Vp.net would harm minors more than a child predator due to the false sense of security and privacy.

The business lies to everyone saying it is secure because of SGX, which has new vulnerabilities pop up weekly.

Polygraphs must not be used as they are completely unreliable and subject to many issues.

The government does a lot of security theater and campaigns to make you believe that they are competent.
