The Eames chair was designed as infrastructure for centralized corporate power—form following the function of hierarchy. Remote work disrupted that function. Now these chairs sit in galleries like deprecated APIs: elegant solutions to problems that vanished. What happens when the very incentive systems that shaped design languages no longer exist?

About
I’m a writer at Noted Views, my collection of essays on the home and the world, society and culture. In the spirit of FT Weekend, I publish one essay each Saturday on cultural life, and another midweek on the arts.

Earlier, I held growth and business development roles at companies including Fetch Robotics, where I led its AI/computer-vision growth through to acquisition, as well as BAE Systems, Verizon, and Tata Communications.

I’m a New Yorker now living in San Francisco. If this profile had a soundtrack, it would be Chet Baker’s Autumn Leaves with Paul Desmond.
