"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."

I fully believe that climate denialists can ignore anything. It could be 55 degrees C outside and they'll say that it's an El Nino year and we are coming out of an ice age, and sure, it's hot, but how do you know that humans caused it?

That better reflects the scientists paid by a government to carry out an agenda like scary "climate change".

No one "denies climate". That's stupid.

No one "denies climate". Stop being ridiculous. What people deny, because there's no evidence, is human-caused catastrophic global warming.

Funny that it used to be called global cooling. Then it became global warming. And now, surprise surprise, it's just "Climate Change".

> Surely, no one will deny the climate?!

Daily reminder: new respitory diseases come and go, nobody usually cares.

What makes Covid different and what caused the shutdowns was when Lombardy alone had 450 deaths a day. No regular influenza could do that.

It's not as if we decided out of thin air the virus was dangerous.

That's not happening anymore. Time to be adults, instead of terrified children, and find alternatives to lockdowns and mask-shaming with the occasional assault, and arrests from local governments.

This post has a very odd tone, as if a private company enforcing their policy to remove unverified & leaked personal correspondence of a private citizen is some unquestionable moral wrongdoing that's apparently going to blow up. Surprised to see this as at the top, on HN.

National Review is a conservative wing-nut website trying to turn this non-story into fuel for their censorship culture war.

I interpret this as some good news. If having Covid-19 provides lasting immunity (years?) then I think that would mean the 5 million or so Americans who have had it and recovered and go back to normal life. Am I missing something?

Yes. The amount of control fear allows is too good to pass up.
