Do you think the Ukrainians after enjoying this?

They cannot put every Russian in jail, if you are not on the streets and burning the Kremlin you clearly don't care enough

IiydAbITMvJkqKf · 4 years ago
Flagging this because you are literally inciting Russian civilians to get themselves killed.

Some people are getting bombed and invaded.

And you complain about moving domain names.

God I hate web developers...

IiydAbITMvJkqKf · 4 years ago
And namecheap banning russian TLDs will not stop the bombings, will not stop Putin, and will not help Ukraine.

I hate people who think they can solve geopolitical problems with SQL commands.

BS no shoes, no shirt, no service. Ever heard about that? If we were a monopoly, fine, there are plenty of other services out there. Over 1000 registrars including several in Russia.
IiydAbITMvJkqKf · 4 years ago
Fine, I will move my domains this week, even though I'm not in Russia and I don't have affected TLDs.

You're punishing people for reasons they have zero control over. If you actually want to help, pick up a gun and go to Kiev.

This makes perfect sense to me; if you are Russian, you should be held accountable for your leadership choices (you didn’t vote for him, but you love and support people and a system that did) and acquiescence to rule by a man who is clearly evil.

I don’t think this is even close to the level of accountability necessary for the Russian people to see the gravity of their mistake.

You deserve isolation, in my opinion, for your marginal part supporting a system of corruption and mass murder. Some very small amount of Ukranian blood is on your hands, and that means you pay this minor economic cost.

IiydAbITMvJkqKf · 4 years ago
This is victim blaming on an unprecedented scale. The average russian has zero control over the actions of the dicatorship, and thus can't be held accountable. Collective punishment for the actions of few is always wrong, especially when the collective has no control over the situation. You are blaming an entire nation for the grave crime of being born in the wrong place.

I have nothing but contempt for you.

Devirtualization is not the correct term. Devirt is a common compiler optimization, where a call through a function pointer is replaced with a direct call to the only possible target.

Patreon hosts tons of youtube channels focused only on weapons including purely military ones, how to make guns more effective (aka better at killing), how to tweak ammo to be more destructive.

That's one fucked up schizophrenic stance, especially from US company in this specific conflict. Does Trump have any influence there by any chance, given his recent statements?

Interesting take to say the least.

I kept having visions of this distopian future where Trump and Putin collude to take care of each other’s enemies.

Putin launches a few nukes at highly democratic cities like LA and NYC; Trump retaliates and takes out whatever area of Russia has the highest population of opposition for Putin; Trump brokers a “deal” and is a hero, and both guys have less trouble moving forward.

I think postgreSQL's 'citext' datatype gets around this:

> The citext data type allows you to eliminate calls to lower in SQL queries, and allows a primary key to be case-insensitive.

https://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.0/citext.html

TL;DR If users choose their usernames, and 'MyUserName' was registered and someone tried to register 'myusername', it would detect a collision and error, thus not causing any problems (the second user would simply have to choose another username).

IiydAbITMvJkqKf · 4 years ago
UUIDs are not text. Most uuid parsers ignore hyphens and braces, so citext will not help you.

Use the native uuid type, or as a fallback, store it in a 16 byte binary blob.

I hate the text editor. Sometimes, it just doesn’t work, so I don’t rely on it for advanced WYSIWYG features.

Worst of all, it will open all links in edge, unless you configure Edge to Not do it. WTF? Why is this even possible?

IiydAbITMvJkqKf · 4 years ago
Someone got a nice bonus for the edge feature.
