Man the Washington regime really has a hard on for North Korea. Somehow they're simultaneously

starving to death and being mass-murdered by the inhuman fatso god-king

but also shrewd hackers magically infiltrating western tech companies for remote work

If you believe that you'll believe anything.

Yeah... They are both those things.

It's probably worth pointing out that the author is a founder of beehiiv, a Substack competitor.
CamelCaseName · a day ago
Thanks for that. I knew something felt off with how much beehiiv was being plugged.

Very lame to not be transparent about that.

> To save you a click: no, the author does not provide any source for the headline.

TFA kind of did, with the '20-30 dollars per person, per month, across an organisation' quote / comment - though they didn't do the math for you.

But that range of monthly spend only needs 220-400 ish people to reach the headline figure of $100k.

Whether that's good value, who can say.

100K, per developer?

Wonder if deprecating direct access means the gpt5 can still route to those behind the scenes?
CamelCaseName · 25 days ago
That would make sense, I'm curious about this as well

These presenters all give off such a “sterile” vibe

The eval bar I want to see here is simple: over a complex objective (e.g., deploy to prod using a git workflow), how many tasks can GPT-5 stay on track with before it falls off the train. Context is king and it's the most obvious and glaring problem with current models.
CamelCaseName · 25 days ago
This sounds like the kind of thing:

1. I desperately want (especially from Google)

2. Is impossible, because it will be super gamed, to the detriment of actually building flexible flows.

Did they just say they're deprecating all of OpenAI's non-GPT-5 models?

When I was traveling in Mexico, it drove me nuts that even though I was signed in, Google Flights switched my currency from dollars to pesos every single time I opened a new tab! I think they really don't care.
CamelCaseName · a month ago
This is super frustrating when you travel a lot. You can change it back to your preferred currency, but it doesn't really stick.

The problem is resellers that buy a $200 license and then sell 1,000 $10 licenses.
