Computing world will be a darker place without him. I wish HN crowd and tech enthusiasts stop worshiping latest Apple and Google products and teach others to use free software.

When I use AWS workspace in X11, The clipboard contents can be shared across host and guest VMs. In wayland, the clipboard is not syncing with AWS VM.

Is it the way like this? is there any workaround? Could someone please enlighten me?

Only GNOME supports clipboard sharing with guests, because GNOME unifies X11 and Wayland clipboards in the compositor. None of the other Wayland DEs are supporting it since it requires special handling in their respective compositors.

No awards for Mozilla? EFF should really award Mozilla for keeping up with web standards using their own browser engine instead of just being Chromium copycat.

Bought my first Mac this year, sick of Microsoft injecting adverts everywhere. Integrating teams into everything, have the learnt nothing from Skype.

I understand your decision. But still switching from one proprietary OS to another does not help in long run. There's no guarantee that Apple will not become another adtech company. Linux seems to be the long term fix for all of us.

I've completely given up on left-clicking the start button. Right-clicking it gets me to most of the important system stuff (shut down, terminal, settings), and for third-party apps not pinned to the taskbar, I just use the keyboard to search.

Why not give up on Windows and switch to any of popular Linux distros?

I started to develop only inside VMs, with a full Desktop, IDE, browser etc. inside the virtual machine.

There have been to many contaminations of major package repos lately. Only one typo in an import statement up the dependency chain and you’d be compromised.

I'm following the same workflow. I use a Linux host and then a Linux guest with OpenGL acceleration on virt-manager. I do all my development and browsing inside the VM. I do not trust any of the npm packages or PIP packages. Any personal stuff like banking, password manager, Nextcloud goes on the host.

With modern virtio interfaces for network, disk and graphics practically giving near metal performance, there's no reason to not utilize VMs for development.

Indian government want to increase security by preventing "sideloading" of the apps in smartphones. Which really means, "You cannot run a program on your own device bought with your own money without getting it signed by Apple or Google because that is bad for cybersecurity."

They also want apps to check for root permissions to prevent running on rooted phones. There are also mentions of obfuscation of the binaries to increase security.
