https://blog.labsbell.com/blog/SkippiesPart2 selling 4.99$ shoes, strangely fun to see the inner workings of ecommerce. I dont understand how amazon sellers make any money.

Interesting, NYC vs Tokyo. NYC is winning up until 20km. We need higher density queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Jersey.

I don't think this takes into account water around cities. For NYC harbour south of downtown pull us down?

Why do things cost what they do? If the shoes cost 4$ to make, what should they cost to consumers?

I don't understand why things cost what they do.

The one thing I've seen help with this problem is to physically separate the bicycle lane from the other traffic. A series of bollards are cheap to bolt to the road or with more effort a grade separation can be made.

Yes, protect lanes for buses and bikes etc is the best solution. Hopefully this research adds emphasis on why those are important.

Maybe we should also train a computer that can catch scofflaw bicyclists that ignore stop signs and red lights.

You are right that the bicycle community does itself no favors with some of our behavior. We are working on it. I think the bigger issue I raised was about the Busses.
