This will be used to take down yt-dlp (again) so it is not at all an outcome to be glad for.

yt-dlp is a blessing

I haven't looked at the MCP server, but generally, reverse engineering with AI is quite underrated. I’ve had success extracting encryption keys from an android app that uses encryption to vendor-lock users by forcing them to use that specific app to open files that should otherwise be in an open format.

By the way, this app had embedded the key into the shader, and it was required to actually run this shader on android device to obtain the key.

I agree, I tried RE using multiple tools connected to MCP and a agent, it was tasked to recreate what the source code might have looked like from a binary and what possible vulnerabilities there could be. It did a incredible job when I compared it to the actual source.

> "content"

Sorry, but we're talking about models as content now? There's almost always a better word than "content" if you're describing something that's in tech or online.

Alifatisk · 5 days ago
I wasn’t only referring to their new model, I meant their blogpost and the research behind their progress, its always a joyride to read.

I didn’t know it was this serious with the vocabulary, I’ll be more cautious in the future.

Time will tell. All this stuff will get more adoption when Anthropic, Google and OpenAI raise prices.
Alifatisk · 5 days ago
They can only raise prices as long as people buy their subscriptions / pay for their api. The Chinese labs are closing in on the SOTA models (I would say they are already there) and offer insane cheap prices for their subscriptions. Vote with your wallet.

Project feels unfinished, I don't even know how to get started.

That's not what I mean. Of course the buzz will reach mainstream media if everyone on social media seems to be talking about it.

What I mean is that the virality was bootstrapped by bots, which in turn was spread by humans. Virality can be maintained entirely by bots now, to give the appearance that there are more users than there actually are. But I doubt that the amount of humans using it is anywhere close to what the amount of engagement suggests. Which wouldn't be suprising considering the project is all about a large number of autonomous agents that interact with online services. It's a bot factory.
