Show HN: Learn Basic Chess Movementsminichessgames.com/?hn...
I made this basic website for my daughter (6) to learn how to move chess pieces. I wanted a simple game which didn't have all the rules, just how to get from A to B with a piece. Admittedly, as soon as I made this a friend pointed out https://lichess.org/learn which is really nice!

There are a bunch of settings you can tweak to set the difficulty etc. Anyway, maybe will be a fun (short) diversion.

Thanks for building this. A small suggestion: the sound effect was a bit startling. Maybe add background music or other sound effects so the user expects sound.

Yup, I wondered about that. I'll toggle sound off by default.

Done - new players won't get the music until they turn it on in settings :)

Excellent - I'm so happy to hear it :) Hope she likes it (always keen for feedback!). The lichess site is very nice once she wants to learn more.

Thanks. It was fun making it, and I really wanted to show her that the internet/apps weren't just for consuming, that you can make something of your own too.

Also, kid-friendly Easter eggs (like turning off the colours..)
