I was just watching Democracy Now! showing a pistol-wielding settler threatening the same group of Palestinians the day before including the latest victim, Awdah Hathaleen.
Recall that Hamdan Ballal was beaten by settlers and soldiers and arrested in March of this year as well.
"Israeli settler Yinon Levi, whom Trump removed from US sanctions list, arrested after death of Awdah Hathaleen"
At least there is some hope that the settlers will face justice. IMHO, this is of utmost importance to the matter of a final resolution of the calamity, and such arrests are an issue that the Palestinian people deserve - justice for the many, many crimes of the settlers.
One can hope that the tide is slowly turning in this conflict. It is incumbent on we, the people of the Free World™, to keep the heat on.
Highly unlikely. More probable is that the military will move in and shoot them all for throwing rocks, and that Yuval Abraham will be imprisoned for distributing “terrorist propaganda”. Levi will probably be given a cash payout and sympathetic interviews on TV. Maybe a medal for bravery and a new car, too.
Thus the notion that we, the people of the Free World™, should keep the heat on this issue until it is properly resolved per the mores of our own sovereign democracies.
It is heart-stoppingly sad how a people is getting wiped out, slowly and meticulously, and the world just says, please let us show restraint.
It is a complex ethnic conflict no doubt, I am not saying it isn't. But actually the settlers in the West Bank part is kinda simpler. These people are hounded away by militias backed by their state, by guns, bulldozers and settlements. Meanwhile, Israeli human rights organisations have just called their government's actions as undeniably genocidal.
I wish peace to all civilians living in that part of the world, but it feels so far away.
Ben Gvir should be held responsible here.
They're not combatants. Its the "T-word", which is pliably used in another context as just this centuries "N-word"...

IMHO, the mere fact we are discussing this on HN, traditionally very resistant to propagating news such as this, may signal a change in tide.
