Project 2025 calls for breaking up NOAA, which NWS is a part of.

If they stick to the plan, this will be gone soon, or rather commercialized (sold to Accuweather).

Hopefully the API will survive. They just rolled out the new API not too long ago. I messed around with it. It's extremely detailed and well made. Pretty much everything on the NWS website is available through the API.
